ATS2020 foresees the pilot implementation of ATS2020 learning model in participating schools during the school year 2016 -2017. Teachers of the experimental group in all participating countries are expected to develop learning cycles to incorporate the ATS2020 framework in their teaching.
In doing so, teachers of the experimental group after receiving relevant training are expected to “build” their lessons in the digital environments selected by the project, namely Office365 and Mahara. During their course of their lessons, students will be invited to use these environments whilst working with their peers or on their own, producing individual or shared work as well as whilst making their work available in the dedicated space of ePortfolio.
Assessment –formative and summative- is an integral part of ATS2020. During pilot implementation students will be involved with various assessment tools (including self and peer assessment) through which they will gradually learn to assess their learning and modify their learning strategies accordingly.
The culmination of this process will be reflected in the ePortfolio which will host the artefacts that students will select in order to showcase their learning. Teachers will be expected to evaluate students’ ePortfolios and development of ATS2020 skills.
Before the commencement of pilot implementation, pre-tests will be conducted in experimental and control groups in order to assess the level of transversal skills before implementation. Post-testing will follow after the end of pilot implementation in order to measure development of transversal skills.
